Hawaii Restaurant Association Partners with Guy Fieri Foundation to Support Victims of Los Angeles Wildfires with $120,000 Donation
HONOLULU, HI (January 27, 2025) – The Hawaii Restaurant Association (HRA) is proud to announce its partnership with the Guy Fieri Foundation to provide critical support for victims of the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles. This collaborative effort, aimed at “Paying It Forward,” will contribute to the California Hospitality Relief Fund, an initiative led by the California Restaurant Association (CRA) to assist those impacted by the fires.
As part of HRA’s ongoing mission to support the hospitality industry during times of crisis, this partnership underscores the commitment to helping industry members in need. The Guy Fieri Foundation, a longtime leader in providing aid to the restaurant community, joins HRA in offering vital financial assistance to those working to rebuild after this tragedy.
“Our hearts go out to the people of California as they navigate the challenges posed by the wildfires,” said Sheryl Matsuoka, President & CEO of the Hawaii Restaurant Association. “It’s an honor to collaborate with the Guy Fieri Foundation and the California Restaurant Association to make a meaningful impact on those who need it most. Together, we are committed to helping the restaurant industry recover and thrive.”
The Guy Fieri Foundation previously provided $1.2 million at a critical time to Lahaina and Kula restaurant employees who lost their jobs in the devastating Maui wildfires of August 8, 2023. HRA, in partnership with the Guy Fieri Foundation, has also contributed $100K to the North Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association’s Hospitality Workers Relief Fund to assist with hurricane recovery efforts.
As part of their ongoing collaboration, The Hawaii Restaurant Association and the Guy Fieri Foundation will “Pay it Forward” by contributing $120K to the California Hospitality Relief Fund. These funds will be distributed to hospitality workers and businesses affected by the fires, providing much-needed financial assistance to help them rebuild their lives and livelihoods.
This partnership between HRA, the Guy Fieri Foundation, and the California Restaurant Association demonstrates the power of the hospitality industry coming together to support its members during times of need.
