Application Due Date Extended… Hawaii Energy’s EmPOWER Grant Program! This Grant program will provide reimbursement funding to Hawai’i’s small businesses and nonprofits interested in implementing energy efficiency projects at their facilities. This would include restaurants in Honolulu, Hawaii, and Maui Counties.
Through the EmPOWER Grant program, qualifying small businesses and nonprofits may apply for a grant to cover up to 100% of costs for an energy efficiency project – the grants, which are capped at $5,000, are in addition to whatever associated standard rebate would come with the project. In other words, if the project was to install a new, efficient packaged, split system, or window A/C unit, that would come with a standard business rebate; the EmPOWER Grant would cover up to 100% of the remaining project costs (up to $5,000)!
An energy efficiency project could be anything from replacing an old air conditioner with something more efficient to upgrading commercial kitchen equipment with the latest ENERGYSTAR® appliances. A comprehensive list of eligible equipment types is available on the grant’s webpage here.
We hope you’ll help us spread the word to our small businesses and nonprofits that might be interested. Applications are due on October 29, 2021.
