August 2021 Executive Directors Message

We need to keep working towards funding RRF

COVID-19 and the Delta variant has not slowed down the National Restaurant Association. As reported a week ago, we are continuing to submit requests to restore the Restaurant Revitalization Fund (RRF) to our Senators.

The $48 Billion would cover all outstanding applicants. We appreciate our Senator’s ongoing efforts, and I will continue to work with the NRA to fund this program

I am thrilled for the 1/3 of our Hawaii restaurants that received RRF. I am asking everyone to please consider the 2/3 that did not receive any funding. COVID-19 has reminded us that we need to continue to stand together and help each other.

How may you assist even if you already submitted a call to action? Did you submit a personal letter? Did you ask all your suppliers and industry partners to also submit their call to action and letters?

We all have been dealing with challenges of this pandemic for the past 17 months and we are tired. We are all short staffed. We are now dealing with the Delta variant. We need to keep focused on restoring the RRF. I personally will not stop until the remaining 2/3 of our Hawaii restaurants receive the funding they deserve.

If you did submit your call to action, personal letters and asked your suppliers and industry partners to do the same, I want to say Thank You for taking your valuable time to help your fellow restaurateurs.

Our voice becomes louder as we stand together.

I hope you and your loved ones continue to be safe and healthy.
