HRA EF April 2021 Newsletter

Our Haumana Fundraiser which is a partnership with Honolulu Coffee Company (HCC) has started off with a bang!

In March, we sold 237 bags of Haumana Blend coffee. Wow!

We are setting a goal to sell 500 bags of Haumana Blend by the end of April 2021 and we need your support!

Mahalo to Abigail and her team for all their effort in kicking off this fundraiser to a great start.

The Hawaii Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (HRAEF) has partnered with Honolulu Coffee Company (HCC), Hawaii’s finest coffee roaster, to create a fundraiser which will support ProStart School. HCC has created a special called “Haumana” just for the HRAEF which students will sell on their high school campuses and HCC will sell in all of its retail stores on Oahu.

Honolulu Coffee Co. retail coffee shop locations throughout O’ahu will donate $5 to tech HRAEF for each 12oz bag of Haumana Blend Coffee sold. These funds will be used to directly benefit the ProStart high schools’ culinary programs.

In addition, students and teachers at ProStart schools will have the opportunity to earn money for their school, the school will receive a $5 donation per bag sold and the money will directly support the culinary and hospitality classrooms at each school.

We are so excited for this fundraiser, which will go on from now until May 15. Your participation, either via purchasing coffee or helping us spread the word, will help the schools pay for updated ProStart books and curriculum materials as well as culinary tools for the classroom.

These are the ProStart high schools taking part in this fundraiser: Castle, Farrington, Kaiser, Kohala (Hawaii Island), Leilehua, Maui, Moanaloa, Pearl City, and Roosevelt. If you would like to order from a particular school but don’t have a direct contact with the culinary department at that school, please email info@hraef.org and we will help you get in touch with the high school you’d like to support. Or you can visit a Honolulu Coffee Co. retail location and look for the special Haimana Blend.
