This year’s Hawaii Restaurant Association Labor Day Paina was held Tuesday evening, August 21, 2018 at Lucky Strike Social in Ala Moana Center. Festivities included complimentary food, drinks, bowling, networking and raffle prize giveaways.
Hawaii has more than 3,500 food service locations directly employing more than 90,200 residents. Mixers such as this are where influential restaurateurs and HRA affiliated members get their views on the very latest news affecting the dynamic industry. Event sponsor Food Gurus Hawaii presented a short video interviewing Top of Waikiki’s Executive Chef Lance Kosaka and his love-hate connection to food.
Onolicious handcrafted gastropub pupus created by Lucky Strike Executive Chef David Saccomanno were offered to guests throughout the evening. Particular favorites were the Crab Cake and Kalua Pig Wonton, which were absolutely stellar!
Guests also enjoyed the HRA bowling competition in the exclusive Living Lounge 4-lane party room, where the event was held, located 1 level above the Lucky Strike arcade, where Shirokiya’s retail departments used to be. The event was capped off with a raffle ticket grand prize, a Maui getaway for two, including roundtrip airfare, a 2-night stay at the Aston Papakea Lahaina and a $100gift card for Bev Gannon’s highly acclaimed restaurant, the Ha’ilimaile General Store.
The Hawaii Restaurant Association Labor Day Paina mixer was sponsored by First Insurance Company of Hawaii, Food Gurus Hawai‘i, Hawaii Gas, Bargreen Ellingson, Y.Hata/ChefZone and Hawaii Volcanic Beverages.
