Mama Manoa restaurant opened on March 2, 2018 in Manoa. The quaint Italian
Bistro features Pizza, Wings and Greens in a relaxed atmosphere that pays tribute to local Hawaii athletes
and University of Hawaii Rainbow Warrior Spirit. Guests at Mama Manoa may dine on the outdoor patio
complete with waterfall and fresh herb garden while enjoying local and national sports on widescreens.
The menu includes many items named after local sports superstars such as the Maa Tanuvasa Meat
Lovers Pizza, the Greg Salas Carne Asada Pizza and the Rich Miano Italian Sandwich. All the creations of
Executive Chef Serge Allerano who has put together some of his favorite Pizza, Chicken Wings, Sandwich
and Salad recipes from over twenty years of cooking experience. The menu also Includes Mama’s
Homemade Meatballs, Spaghetti with Meatballs or Meat Sauce, Lasagna, Garlicky Cheese Balls and even
a “secret” menu that you can only learn by word of mouth. Owner, Drew Santos, created the concept for
Mama Manoa out of his love and passion for University of Hawaii sports. “When you look around the
Honolulu area, there are few venues that pay tribute to Hawaii athletics and the great people who have
played here and then gone onto professional careers. We wanted to bring those players to life and
showcase them while promoting school spirit for the University of Hawaii”. “It has been amazing to see
many of Hawaii’s sports icons like Marcus Mariota, Dave Shoji, Maa Tanuvasa, Greg Salas, Natasha Kai,
Chad Owens, Robin Ah Mow-Santos and others visiting and eating at the restaurant” according to Santos.
A portion of the profits at Mama Manoa will be donated to the Mason Kekoa Nava Macloves Memorial
Scholarship and the University of Hawaii Cancer Center. “Giving back to our community is part of why we
are doing this Santos said.
Mama Manoa is located at 2740 E. Manoa Road.
