HRA Restauranteur Board Directors Interviewed on Radio Mojo!

Saturday, February 10th at 10am for one hour on AM 1500 NBCSportsRadio, Tom Jones of Gyotaku Japanese Restaurants, and Michael Miller of Tiki’s Grill & Bar joined Radio Mojo Host Jo McGarry to discuss legislative bills that have great effect on Hawaii’s restaurant industry.

Looking beyond the food & beverage into the business of running a restaurant, the very tight margins of the industry, and what might be in store for Hawaii.

Jo McGarry shared her insights on restaurants in Hawaii as a high-risk commodity, and as a failing restaurant which can cost a landlord hundreds of thousands of dollars in lost Tenant Improvements, default rent, and even legal fees. Also insights to the costs and benefits of having local restaurants as a part of the community.

They covered minimum wage concerns, what the tip credit is, the challenges of schedules, and balancing a labor budget while providing great food and service.

It was a great talk for these hot restaurant issues. Be sure to listen to the full recording at Jo McGarry Radio Mojo’s website by going to:  http://www.buzzsprout.com/20788/640731-the-problem-with-restaurants-is
