Potential Scam

There is a SCAM going around nationally that all HRA members should be aware of. If you receive a letter or invoice from a group calling itself ‘National Hotel and Restaurant Association’. The invoice is for a Membership and Directory Listing Notice.  DO NOT answer or pay this invoice.

This group has no affiliation with either the National or Hawaii Restaurant Association. The National Restaurant Association is investigating, and has determined this is not a legitimate business, and is a scam to get you to send them money. the NRA is looking into possible legal action against this group.

Both the National and Hawaii Restaurant Associations would contact you via your operations email address, not thru a mailed letter. All communication would come from either the National or Hawaii Restaurant Association, not a group that sounds like it is part of our legitimate organizations. Another tip off is the links on their webpage are dead ends… except the pages where you can pay.

If you receive a letter or invoice from any questionable group, please contact your HRA at 808-944-9105 or members@hawaiirestaurant.org
